ART DECO DETAILS AT 501 UNION: LAURIE & MATT, 9.10.16

Brooklyn bride and groom Laurie and Matt chose the stunning space at 501 Union for their September wedding, and we were so excited to create a custom package of day-of letterpress stationery for them. Originally a classic car body shop on an industrial stretch along the Gowanus Canal, 501 Union is now a sprawling, light-filled event space with drool-inducing custom wallpaper, marble, wood, and gold fixtures. A venue like this one hardly needs decorating, so Laurie and Matt chose to keep things simple and chic — green foliage and white florals with splashes of burgundy and gold. When it came to their day-of stationery, they wanted a clean, geometric look that incorporated some art deco elements.

Along with standing tabletop menus for the family-style Italian-American feast, we created signature coasters (great guest souvenirs!) along with cocktail menus to accompany the signature drinks created by beverage specialist Brett Elms, and served up by 501's mixologists. Laurie and Matt also had the bright idea to prepare for an Indian summer's day in New York City by turning the programs into handheld fans, which their guests enthusiastically employed to combat the humidity!

The gorgeous shots below are courtesy of photographer Cynthia Chung, who captured the day beautifully. Salud!
